| I needed another reason to tune into the next season of Lost.
I just found out that this hottie is going to be a new character!!!

If you don't recognize him, he's the hottie from "Love Actually" and "Charlie's Angels".
Bring on the new season! BRING IT, BABY!!
| We finally did it--Vincent and I took our honeymoon! This was by far the best vacation of our lives, and it was great to spend it together in the sun with yummy food and total relaxation. And we didn't check email/the internet once, which is a miracle! (For those of you who don't know, the Maldives is in the Indian Ocean below India and west of Sri Lanka. And yes, it was hit by the fateful 2004 tsunami.)

Vincent and I spent 4 days at the luxurious Taj Exotica Resort and Spa, with breathtaking views, the most friendly service, and just a fabulous time. I think the photos below explain the true bliss that we experienced.

(photos 1st column, top-bottom) our Deluxe Lagoon Villa with plunge pool, chillin' on our private sun deck, the path to our Villa
(photos 2nd column, top-bottom) lovers with our island as a backdrop, our private plunge pool, relaxing in the Infinity Pool
Our daily routine was wake up, take a dip in the crystal clear lagoon (the body of water surrounding our villa), walk to breakfast (it's only a 10 minute walk from one side of the island to the other), walk back to the lagoon and reapply sunblock, walk to the pool, lay out and read (together we read over 1200 pages and played 20 sudoku games) for the next 5 hours while being served bottled water, fresh fruit, fresh sorbets, cocktails, and lunch, go back to our villa and get back into the lagoon, take a dip in our plunge pool, shower, dinner, sleep. Repeat.
Anyhow, if anyone plans on taking a vacation/honeymoon to the Maldives, I highly highly HIGHLY recommend staying at the Taj! This particular resort won a ton of awards and is absolutely fabulous.
Now we're back in Sydney in freezing weather! It's winter here now... boo! At least I've got great food to comfort me here. : )
On an unrelated, but hilarious note, check out this video entitled "Silent Library" I guarantee it'll give you a laugh!
| This CD rocks! Especially if you like OMD. And yes Eeps, I'm 3 months late on your copy. Sorry!
Ok it's been so long that I don't even know where to begin! Let's start with my looong trip...
For those of you that didn't know, I ended up traveling the entire month of February. Yep, Vincent and I left Sydney on Feb 1st and came back on March 1st. And here's what we did:
Feb 1st-5th = HK 1. Ate 6 meals the day we arrived which led to an unsettled stomach 2. Proceeded to eat 4 meals the subsequent days. Why? Because it's HK! (breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner) 3. Wedding "thank you" dinner with family friends who couldn't make it to Oz 4. Visits with family 5. Shopping! Hubby bought me the most amazing handbag for a joint Vday/Bday gift. Wife is happy!
Feb 5th-7th = LA 1. Visits with my family 2. Catch up with work
Feb 7th-9th = NY 1. Stay at the Waldorf Astoria! I think we go the same suite as Akeem's parents in "Coming to America". : ) 2. Go to the Trovata (www.trovata.com) show since Incu is their Asia distributor. My first Fashion Week show, but it wasn't all that. Trovata is awesome goods, but not really runway material.
Feb 9th-12th = LA 1. More family visits and meals 2. Work 3. One two-hour brunch to see some good ol' LA folks the day I leave 4. Final family dinner before our evening flight to NY (again) 5. GET ROBBED
Yes, you read that correctly. It was this fateful night that stupid, ugly thieves stole my new handbag (along with my work and personal mobile phones, my digicam, a wedding check, etc.) from our car while we were getting gas before returning the rental car. After many tears and calling the police, I managed to put myself together only to have sudden crying outbursts on the plane (which we almost missed due to the police report over the phone). Anyhow, I'd rather not talk about this since I'm still a bit bitter (grr..). I was holding my wallet so no credit cards were stolen, but I wish they took my wallet instead since it was worth less than the bag!
Feb 13th-18th = NY 1. Back in the Big Apple for Coterie (3-day fashion exhibition of women's collections for prospective buyers/stores) 2. Catch up with high school buddies 3. Freeze butts off
Feb 19th-21st = HK (again) 1. Work 2. Wedding reception #2, but less formal and with less people 3. Sleep from exhaustion...
Feb 22nd-24th = Tokyo (business trip) 1. Spend birthday alone two yrs in a row! 2. Best Kobe beef meal ever 3. BIG bday stomach ache and nausea from over-eating 4. Best kushiyaki meal ever 5. No time for shopping except in the terminal--boo
Feb 25th-28th = HK (again) 1. Hi Mom and Dad... again! 2. Work, lots of food, work, more food 3. I 4. Want 5. To 6. Go 7. Home
March 1st = Back in Sydney!!! Woo hoo!
Since I've been back, we went to the chiropractor to make sure we're alright and I discovered my spine it totally jacked up. And the chiro suspects this is due to the two hit-and-runs I experienced in '00 and '01. It sucks that I never went to get any check-ups because I learned that car accidents (no matter how small they are) can screw up your body for life. So here are my two cents: Go get an x-ray/chiro check to make sure an accident 5 years ago didn't make your spine go from an "I" to an "S" (if you didn't get a check-up already)! Diagnosis after my visit: 3 dates a week with the chiro for the next three months, then maybe (just maybe) I'll be reduced to twice a week. Wish me luck.
Now I'm home alone since Vincent is back in HK on business for a week. Since he's been gone, I've been doing a lot of re-organizing, cleaning, and watching of "Full House". No, I'm not talking about the Bob Saget and Olsen twins sitcom, but a Korean soap opera. It's cute, but not nearly as good as my favorite "Hotelier".
And now I have come to the realization (for the millionth time): I need friends in Sydney! Everyone I know either works for, works with, or is friends with Vincent, but I really need my own friends that I could just call up and hang out with. It's hard to meet people when you work from home, and when all 7 people at the office are married men in their 40s with children. Does anyone have friends here that they'd want to introduce me to? I promise I'm harmless.
Next entry... honeymoon decision! We've pretty much made up our minds, but if you have any suggestions, I'm all ears!
| omgosh, i'm married! yeah, mahreeed!
so how has my life changed now that i am legally bound to another? to be honest, not much has changed except: 1. i'm no longer stressing about the big day, instead i'm just excited about the honeymoon (japan here we come!) 2. people no longer ask when the wedding is, instead it's, 'when are the babies coming?' 3. instead of 'auntie' and 'uncle', i now call vincent's parents 'mum' and 'dad'
so yes, those are the major differences in my life. ha! marriage is a wonderful, wonderful thing. i highly recommend it for interested parties. : )
it's now a bit past 10pm on a friday evening and i am home alone. my hubby is away in nyc for business, and i have just been working/cleaning at home all week long. and the things going through my mind right now are: - i miss my hubby - i can't wait to go to hk - does cheez whiz still exist? - what ever happened to mr. belvedere? - i wish i had brownie mix
tomorrow i will be going to a hen's party (aka bachelorette party). my first ozzie hen's night! should be good!
i've made my new year's resolutions, and one of them is to spend more time visiting the sites in and around sydney. i really want to get completely comfortable with the city, so i'm going to try really hard to do new things each weekend. and to kick off this 'explore sydney' adventure, i will be leaving the country for the whole month of feb to visit friends and relatives in hk, la, and ny. yippee!
oh, and i'm going to try to update this site more often! really!
